"CADEBY, a township and a parish in Market-Bosworth district, Leicester. The township lies 1½ mile SE by S of Market-Bosworth, and 5 WSW of Desford r. station. Acres, 900. Real property, £1,662. Pop., 194. Houses, 43. The parish contains also the township of Osbaston; and its Post Town is Market-Bosworth, under Hinckley. Acres, 2,130. Real property, £4,623. Pop., 422. Houses, 88. The property is divided among a few. The parish is a meet for the Atherstone hounds. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough. Value, £223. Patron, Sir Alex. Dixie, Bart. The church is very good. Charities, £21."

Inside Cadeby parish church (All Saints) is a white marble plaque with black lettering for the inscription It is a memorial to the eight men who fell in the two World Wars.

- The parish is in the ancient Sparkenhoe Hundred in the western division of the county.
- At one time, the parish contained the township of Obaston before that place was formed as a Civil Parish in 1866.
- In March, 1884, the parish was enlarged by gaining the Naneby House part of Market Bosworth Civil Parish. This was about 108 acres of land.
- The Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council provides district governance.
- As a result of the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act, this parish became part of the Market Bosworth Poorlaw Union.
- Bastardy cases would be heard in the Market Bosworth petty session hearings, held every other Thursday at the police court in Hinckley and every other Wednesday at the police court in Market Bosworth.
These census figures, except for 1841, appear to be for the Township and not the entire parish of Cadeby.
