It was founded in 1879. It closed in 1979. The building was demolished and the congregation joined with Urmston Baptist Church, Primrose Avenue to become Greenfield Church (Baptist and Congregational).
The stained glass window pictured is still in existence and is crated and stored at Greenfield Church. In 1972 the Congregational church joined with the English Presbyterian church to become the United Reformed Church.
