The chronicle on the 150th anniversary of the German Church Manchester and the 50th anniversary of the church in Stretford (in English) is being produced and will be available shortly.
^Click the arrow on the line above to find links to search for web sites of current churches when one is not listed here, or within the address. Some churches keep closing so if it has had to close then please let us know.
The foundation stone was laid on the 7th April 1963, the church was consecrated on the 20th October 1963. The church was built on a vacant plot of land, where a filling-station could not be erected due to planning restrictions.
This church is the successor to the "old" German Lutheran Church in Wright Street, Manchester.
Whilst every effort has been made to record exact details of record office and library holdings you are recommended to check with them before visiting to ensure that they do hold the records and years you wish to examine. Similarly check with transcript publishers to ensure they cover the records and years you require before making a purchase.
The church records are held at the vicarage, transcription is under progress.
