St Margaret's is a chapel within the parish of St Leonard.
The building was erected in the middle of the 1930s to serve the residents of the (then) newly built Boarshaw Estate, and was always known locally as St. Margaret's Church Hall as, by lowering a shutter screen, the Altar could be cut off enabling the hall to be used for many purposes.
There were the usual Church activities of Scouts and Guides groups , concerts, jumble sales, sales of works' etc. and following the post-war baby boom, the hall housed the overflow from the nearby junior school for a number of years.
This is a daughter church of the Middleton Parish Church of St. Leonard's and as Baptism, Marriage and Burial Services are conducted there, St.Margaret's does not hold any records.
