“WESTON, a parish in the hundred of Broadwater, county Herts, 5 miles E. of Hitchin, and 3 S.E. of the Baldock railway station. The village is situated on a branch of the river Bene, under the Chalk hills, and on the north-eastern border is traversed by the Roman road. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Rochester, value £200. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. There are chapels belonging to the Wesleyans and Roman Catholics, and a National school. A fair is held on 11th June."
