“BUCKLAND, a parish in the hundred of Edwinstree, in the county of Hertford, 2 miles to the N. of Buntingford. It includes the village of Chipping. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Rochester, worth £300, in the patronage of the Provost and Fellows of King's College, Cambridge. The church is dedicated to St. Andrew. The parochial charities are worth £3 a year. This parish was crossed by the old British road, Ermine Street."
