"HOW-CAPLE, a parish in the hundred of GREYTREE, county of HEREFORD, 6 miles (N. N. E.) from Ross, containing 117 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, united to that of Sollers-Hope, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Hereford, rated in the king's books at £9. The church is dedicated to St. Andrew."
