"FYFIELD, a parish in the upper half of the hundred of Andover, county Hants, 5 miles N.W. of Andover, its post town and nearest railway station on the South-Western line. The hamlet of Redenham is included in this parish The soil is partly chalk and partly gravel. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Winchester, value £226, in the patronage of the lord chancellor. The church is dedicated to St. Nicholas. The charities produce about £34 per annum. There is a National school for the children of this and the two adjoining parishes. Sir J. W. Pollen, Bart., is lord of the manor. "
