The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
"BEAUWORTH, (or Beaworth), a parish in the hundred of Upper Fawley, in the county of Southampton, 6 miles to the E. of Winchester. In the British Museum is a large hoard of coins (between six and seven hundred in number) of William the Conqueror, which were found in a curious leaden box in this place."
