[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer (1868)]
"WALTON CARDIFF, a parish in the lower division of Tewkesbury hundred, county Gloucester, 1 mile S.E. of Tewkesbury, its post town. It is situated on the road from Tewkesbury to Evesham, near the river Severn and the Gloucester and Birmingham railway. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol, value £53, in the patronage of All Souls' College, Oxford. The church, which is dedicated to St. James, was built in 1658. The interior has lately been restored. The interments take place at the neighbouring parish of Aschurch. The parochial charities produce about £1 10s. per annum. In the vicinity is a mineral spring."
