"EASTINGTON, a hamlet or chapelry in the parish of Northleach, hundred of Bradley, county Gloucester, 1 mile S.E. of Northleach. It is situated on the river Leach. In the neighbourhood are some remains of Norbury Camp. Here was formerly a chapel, dedicated to St. Mary, but which has long since gone to decay.""ALKERTON, a tything in the parish of Eastington, in the hundred of Whitstone, in the county of Gloucester, 4 miles to the W. of Stroud. Alkerton House is the principal residence."
