"HEDINGHAM (SIBLE), a parish in the hundred
of HINCKFORD, county of ESSEX, ¾ of a mile (S. W.) from
Castle-Hedingham, containing 2060 inhabitants. The
living is a rectory, in the jurisdiction of the Commissary
of Essex and Herts, concurrently with the Consistorial
Court of the Bishop of London, rated in the king's
books at £22. C. Stovin, Esq. was patron in 1792.
The church is dedicated to St. Mary. There is a place
