"YELDHAM (GREAT), a parish in the hundred of HINCKFORD, county of ESSEX, 3 miles (N. W. by N.) from Castle-Hedingham, containing 552 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Middlesex, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £20, and in the patronage of Sir W. B. Rush, Knt.
