“TURNWORTH, a parish in the hundred of Cranborne, county Dorset, 5 miles N.W. of Blanford, its post town. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Sarum, value £160, in the patronage of the bishop. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, has been recently restored at the expense of W. R. Okeden, Esq., who is lord of the manor. Turnworth House is the principal residence."
