“LONG BREDY, a parish in the hundred of Eggerton, in the county of Dorset, 8 miles to the W. of Dorchester, its post town. Upper Kingston is a hamlet of this parish The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Salisbury, of the value with the perpetual curacy of Little Bredy annexed, of £625, in the patronage of R. Williams, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. The charitable endowments amount to £8 per annum.
