YARNSCOMBE, a parish in the hundred of HARTLAND, county of DEVON, 6 miles (N. E. by E.) from Great Torrington, containing 463 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Barnstaple, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £7. 11. 11., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Andrew.
