TRENTISHOE, a parish in the hundred of BRAUNTON, county of DEVON, 10½ miles (E. by N.) from Ilfracombe, containing 130 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Barnstaple, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £8. 8.4., endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Mrs. A. W. Griffiths. The church is dedicated to St. Peter.
