The Report of the Council
Trans. Devon Assoc., vol. XXXIII, 1901, pp. 24-29.
by
Rev. W Harpley, M.A., F.C.P.S.
Prepared by Michael Steer
The Council’s Annual Report was presented at its July 1901, Exeter General Meeting. The important record is the Fortieth Annual Report of The Council of the Devon Association for the Advancement of Science, Literature, and Art. It provides the genealogist with names of the Association’s early office-bearers, as well as a list of the papers and their authors, delivered at its annual meeting, held at Totnes in the previous year. This year saw the resignation of Rev. Harpley as Honorary Secretary of the Association. The Report, from a copy of a rare journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
