The Association’s Annual Report was presented at its 1878 Paignton General Meeting. This important record is the Sixteenth Annual Report of The Council of the Devon Association for the Advancement of Science, Literature, and Art. It provides the genealogist with names of the Association’s early office-bearers, as well as a list of the papers and their authors, delivered at its annual meeting, held on July 31st at Kingsbridge in the previous year. The Report, from a copy of a rare and much sought-after journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
