Dr. Brushfield’s Presidential Address was delivered at the Association’s July 1893 Torquay meeting. The present resultant lengthy Paper was supported with a highly detailed Appendix in two parts, the second of which provided the following Table of Devon’s major authors to 1640.
Association President for 1893, Thomas Nadauld Brushfield (1828–1910) was a noted antiquarian. His comprehensive biography with portrait is available in Wikipedia, and his obituary is available In GENUKI.
Dr Brushfield’s Presidential Address including the invaluable Appendixes appear in a rare journal downloadable from the Internet Archive.
