PUDDINGTON, a parish in the hundred of WITHERIDGE, county of DEVON, 8 miles (W. by S.) from Tiverton, containing 176 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Barnstaple, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £6. 8. 1½, and in the patronage of Thomas Welman, Esq. Here is a Presbyterian place of worship, with an endowment in land yielding about £35 per annum. A charity school is partly supported by some small benefactions.
