Seventh Report of the Committee on Devonshire Records: Plymouth Proprietary Library
Trans. Devon. Assoc. vol. 28 (1896), pp. 110-173.
by
J. Brooking-Rowe (ed.)
Prepared by Michael Steer
The report, read at the Association's 1896 Ashburton meeting continues the account of Plymouth Proprietary Library Manuscripts, in particular documents relating to Devonshire in the Phillipps and Incledon Manuscript,s and Fox Memoirs, about half of which are presented in this paper. The purpose of the Committee was to investigate and report on manuscripts, records and ancient documents existing in or related to Devonshire, with the nature of their contents, their localities and whether or not they are in private or public hands. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the New York Public Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
