This is the last will of James Davy of Chillaton in the parish of Milton Abbott Devon Carpenter. I give two pounds to my Daughter Mary Jane Davy, two pounds to my son John Davy, two pounds to my Son James Bowden Davy, two pounds to my Daughter Elizabeth Bowden Davy, two pounds to my Son Arthur Facey Davy to be paid to each of them on the day they come of age - I give my tools to be divided between my two Sons John Davy and James Bowden Davey I give my houses, furniture, stock in trade, & all the money I am possessed of after the payment of my just debts to my wife Mary Davy, whom I appoint my sole Executrix.

Appeared personally Mary Davy of the parish of Callington in the County of Cornwall Widow the sole - Executrix named in the last Will and Testament of James Davy late of Chillaton in the parish of Milton Abbot in the County of Devon and Archdeaconry of Totnes Carpenter deceased - who died on the fourth - Day of September 1854 and made Oath that she has made diligent search and due enquiry after, and in respect of the Personal Estate and Effects of the said deceased, in order to ascertain the full amount and value thereof; and that to the best of her knowledge, information, and belief, the whole of the Goods, Chattels and Credits, of which the deceased died possessed, within the Archdeaconry of Totnes, in the Province of Canterbury, (exclusive of what the deceased may have been possessed of, or entitled to as a Trustee for any other Person or Persons, and not beneficially, but including the Leasehold Estate for years of the deceased, whether absolute or determinable on Lives, and without deducting any thing on account of the Debts due and owing from the deceased) are under the value of one hundred - Pounds, to the best of this Deponents knowledge, information, and belief.
