The Committee’s Report was read at the Association’s July 1879 Ilfracombe meeting. The Committee’s purpose was to note and record current and past use of any Verbal Provincialisms in Devonshire, in either written or spoken language, that were not included in the lists published in the Association’s Transactions. At this, its third meeting, committee members met almost immediately on their reappointment, and unanimously agreed on the continued use of the Resolutions adopted at the beginning of their initial Report. This its successor, from a copy of a rare and much sought-after journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitization of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
