Appeared personally Robert Farrant of Hemyock in the county of Devon yeoman and Edward Lutley of the same place yeoman the executors in trust named in the last Will and Testament of john Holway late of Hemyock aforesaid yeoman who died on the 23rd day of May 1822

In the name of God Amen I John Holway of the parish of Hemyock in the county of Devon yeoman being of a sound and disposing mind and of perfect memory blessed be to God for the same do make and ordain this as and for my last Will and Testament in the manner and form following (that is to say) 
First and principally I commend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried with decent Christian funeral at the discretion of my executors in trust hereinafter named 
And as for my worldly estate and effects wherewith I may be blessed with at my decease I give dispose and bequeath as follows 
To Mary my beloved wife I give and bequeath my bedstead and furniture bed and bedding thereto belonging now in my parlour chamber also my chest of drawers and swing glass also the silver plate she brought with her on marriage marked MB and also the silver punch ladle and two salts not marked also the Holy Bible and the choice of any other books also the card table and also any other small article she brought with her 
To my two daughters Mary Ann and Elizabeth I give and bequeath the remainder of my silver plate and not hereinbefore bequeathed to my wife equally between them 
All the rest residue and remainder of my lands or any interest in lands called Ashcombe and Dommets in the parish of Hemyok aforesaid or any other with the monies security for money stock goods and chattles whatsoever and wheresoever it may be found at my decease I give devise and bequeath to my two friends Mr Robert Farrant of Tedborough Farm in the parish of Hemyock aforesaid and to Mr Edward Lutley Junr at Burrough Hill in the said parish in trust for the following uses intents and purposes (that is to say) 
Nevertheless upon trust only to take demand and recover my debts due to me and to sell and dispose of my property either real or personal to the best advantage and as soon as can be done to advantage after my decease and after paying my funeral expenses and all my just debts to divide the same in equal and similar shares and portions between Mary my beloved wife Mary Ann my daughter and Elizabeth my daughter my said wife's share to be paid her if requested as soon as possible and my daughters to be paid their share respectively as they shall attain the age of twenty one years or days of marriage 
But should either of my daughters die before their arrival to that age and without leaving legitimate issue then the shares of such dying shall revert to the survivors of the three my wife is to be therein included in equal shares and portions 
Lastly I constitute and appoint my beforesaid friends Robert Farrant and Edward Lutley executors in trust of this my Will declaring this to be my last 
In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this twenty ninth of April one thousand eight hundred and twenty two    Jno Holway
