The author draws attention to a surprising number of errors relating to the Fulford pedigree that appear in revisions of Westcote's Devonshire. As an example; in Dunsford Church there is an elaborate and impressive monument which has effigies of Sir Thomas Fulford and his wife Ursula. Smaller effigies of their seven children line up behind the couple. There is, according to the Note's author, no evidence that this Thomas was a knight. Further, a Sir William Fulford, described by Prince in his Devonshire Worthies, is entirely mythical. There is also commentary on the Fulford family's traditional use of supporters with their arms. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries.
