The Report was presented at the Association’s Barnstaple meeting on 24th July, 1917. The Committee was established on February 18th, 1915, to compile a new Bibliography of the County of Devon. That Bibliography to include: -
(a) Works of persons born or resident in Devon;
(b) Works printed in Devon;
(c) Works written wholly or partly in Devon;
(d) Works relating wholly or partly to Devon or Devonians.
Mr. Maxwell Adams, Mr. R. Pearse Chope, Miss B. F. Cresswell, Mr. C.H. Laycock, Mr. R. Burnet Morris, Lady Radford and Mr. H. Tapley-Soper were appointed Committee members “for the compilation of a Bibliography of the County of Devon”; with Mr. R. Burnet Morris as Secretary. 
Committee activity during the year consisted largely in extracting and noting from printed indexes of all kinds, references to matters within its purview. Departments of MSS., Maps, and Music acquired the greatest number of accessions. The Report appears in a copy of a rare journal that can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
