It was founded in 1861.
Church History
An ancient parish church, originally serving the townships of Capenhurst, Great Saughall, Little Saughall, Shotwick and Woodbank.
The district was affected by the following boundary changes:
- 1859 — reduced when the township of Capenhurst was transferred to Capenhurst: Holy Trinity.
- 1921 August 16 — reduced when the township of Little Saughall and part of the township of Great Saughall were transferred to Great Saughall: All Saints.
