It was founded in 1558.

Plemstall Lane, Mickle Trafford 

Also known as "Plemondstall". 

Church History

An ancient parish church, originally serving the townships of Bridge Trafford, Mickle Trafford, Picton, and part of the township of Hoole. 

The district was affected by the following boundary changes: 

  • 1843 — reduced when the part of the township of Hoole was transferred to Chester: Christ Church. 
  • 1934 August 17 — reduced when the following area was transferred to Chester: St. Paul: "All those portions of the said Parish of Plemstall which lie to the south-west of the Parish of Guilden Sutton, in the said County and Diocese, and to the south-east of the middle of the said Chester and Warrington Line of Railway" 
  • 1934 August 17 — reduced when an area was transferred to Hoole: All Saints. 
  • 1959 January 23 — reduced when the following area was transferred to Hoole: All Saints: "All lhat part of the parish of Plemstall which lies to the southwest of the middle of the Chester By-Pass road (numbered A41 on the map)".
