- Little Sutton was a township in Eastham ancient parish, Wirral hundred (SJ 3676), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- The civil parish was abolished in 1950 to become part of Ellesmere Port.
- It included the hamlets of Gorsthill and Woodhey.
- The population was 166 in 1801, 432 in 1851, and 1109 in 1901.
