- Henbury cum Pexall was a township in the ancient parishes of Prestbury and Gawsworth, Macclesfield hundred (SJ 8672), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- The civil parish was abolished in 1936 to become part of Henbury.
- It included the hamlets of Fanshawe, Marlheath and Pexhill.
- The population was 333 in 1801, 464 in 1851, and 368 in 1901.
