"OFFERTON, a township in the parish of STOCKPORT, hundred of MACCLESFIELD, county palatine of CHESTER, 2½ miles (S.E. by E.) from Stockport, containing 401 inhabitants. There is a trifling sum, left by Richard Dodge in 1765, for teaching two poor children whose parents do not receive parochial relief." - Offerton was a township in Stockport ancient parish, Macclesfield hundred (SJ 9188), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- The civil parish was abolished in 1900 to become part of Hazel Grove & Bramhall
- The population was 351 in 1801, 352 in 1851, and 558 in 1901.
