"CHURTON-HEATH, or BRUERA, a chapelry in that part of the parish of ALDFORD which is in the lower division of the hundred of BROXTON, county palatine of CHESTER, 5½ miles (S. E. by S.) from Chester, containing 8 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage of St. Oswald, city of Chester, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Chester. The chapel, dedicated to St. Mary, is a very ancient structure, with a Norman arch between the nave and the chancel, and a rich Norman door at the south end; various carved stones are conspicuous in the walls." - Churton Heath was a township in St. Oswald's ancient parish, Broxton hundred (SJ 4360), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- The population was 8 in 1801, 22 in 1851, 7 in 1901, 15 in 1951, and 8 in 2001.
