"CHOLSALL, a hamlet in the parish of Abingdon St. Helen, in the hundred of Hormer, in the county of Berks, 1 mile N.W. of Abingdon.
"NORTHCOURT, (or Northcott), a township in the parish of Abingdon St. Helen, hundred of Hormer, county Berks, 1 mile N. of Abingdon.
"PUMNEY, a farm in the parish of Abingdon St. Helen, hundred of Hormer, county Berks, 2 miles N.E. of Abingdon. It is situated on the Thames."
"SANDFORD, (or Dry Sandford) a township and chapelry in the parish of Abingdon St. Helen, hundred of Hormer, county Berks, 3 miles N.W. of Abingdon, and 7 S.W. of Oxford. It is situated at the confluence of the river Ock with the Thames, and near the Wilts and Berks canal. The living is a curacy annexed to the vicarage of Abingdon, in the diocese of Oxford. The church was erected on the site of an old chapel in 1850.
"SHIPPON, a township and chapelry in the parish of Abingdon St. Helen, hundred of Hormer, county Berks, 1 mile N.W. of Abingdon. The village is small and wholly agricultural. The living is a curacy annexed to the vicarage of Abingdon, in the diocese of Oxford. The church is an ancient edifice."
