Castlerahan church stands beside an imposing hilltop mote; the oldest church is said to have been 50 yds. to the east. The church is unroofed, but fairly well preserved. Its windows were apparently plastered and not made with cut stone. The building was used until 1834, and was probably erected in the 18th century.
